CODE OF CONDUCT: All participating students must ensure they read and follow our school representative sports code of conduct: Heaton Code of Conduct (CARE)

COST:

Participation in the CAIMs Summer Tournament is based on our user-pay model (opt-in) and will involve a cost that covers return transportation to the event and tournament expenses. These costs will be added to your school account. If you have any questions or no longer wish for your child to take part, please contact Mrs Henderson.

COACHES:

• Rugby Sevens – Mrs Clarkson and Mrs Boyle
• Netball – Miss Christie and Mrs Edge
• Squash – Mr Greaves
• Table Tennis – Mrs Halligan (Mrs Doré on Monday only).
• Basketball – Mrs Henderson
• Volleyball – Mr Naidoo
• Football – Open: Mr Cooper and Mr Phanpho, Girls: Mr Griggs
• Hockey – Mrs Eames and Mrs Cumming
• Badminton – Mr Brown

Referee/Umpire support for Netball and Rugby Sevens: If you can provide support with officiating netball or rugby sevens games throughout the tournament, please send me an email (hendersonk@heaton.school.nz)

STUDENT EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Please ensure you have the following equipment to ensure your success on tournament day:

• Packed lunch with plenty of healthy snacks.
• Water bottle.
• Heaton PE kit or assigned uniform.
• Any specific sports equipment you require for your code e.g. rugby boots, hockey sticks, shin pads, mouth guards, racquets etc. 
• Warm clothing in the event of wind or cold weather.
• Sunblock and sunhat.
• Spare shoes for outdoor codes (in the event of rain and mud)
• All personal medication you require e.g. EpiPen, Ventolin
• Please note, there will be no gum or fizzy/sports drinks permitted.

MEETING TIMES & LOCATIONS

Badminton:

• Please meet at the flag pole at 8:30, your car will depart at 8:50am.
• Managers meeting begins at 9:30am, first game is 10am

Basketball

• Please meet in the hall at 8:10am, bus will depart promptly at 8:30am
• Managers meeting begins at 9:30am, first game is 10am

Football

• Please meet in the hall quad 8:45am, bus will depart promptly at 9:00am
• Managers meeting begins at 10am, first game is 10:30am

Hockey

• Please meet on the netball courts at 8:10am, bus will depart promptly at 8:30am
• Managers meeting begins at 9:15am, first game is 9:45am

Netball

• Please meet in the hall at 8:10am, bus will depart promptly at 8:30am
• Managers meeting begins at 9:30am, first game is 10am

Rugby

• Please meet on the basketball court at 8:10, bus will depart promptly at 8:30am
• Managers meeting begins at 9:30am, first game is 10am

Squash

• Please meet at the flag pole at 8:10am, your van will depart promptly at 8:20am
• Managers meeting begins at 9:15am, first game is 9:45am

Table Tennis

• Please meet at the flag pole at 8:15am, your van will depart promptly at 8:30am
• Managers meeting begins at 9:30am, first game is 10am

Volleyball

• Please meet in Room 4 at 7:50am, your bus will depart promptly at 8:10am
• Managers meeting begins at 8:50am, first game is 9:20am

BUS GROUPINGS:

• Badminton – Travelling with Mr Brown in his private vehicle. Permission slips will be sent home on Monday and need to be returned to the student office.
• Table Tennis – School Mini Van
• Squash – School Mini Van
• Volleyball – Bus to Hornby High School
• Basketball and Netball – sharing a bus. Drop off one: South Hagley, drop off two: Pioneer Stadium
• Open and Girls Football – Bus to South Hagley
• Hockey – Bus to Nunweek Park
• Rugby Sevens – Bus to Nunweek Park

WHO TO INFORM IF I AM ABSENT?: If you are absent on the tournament day, you or your caregiver must email your coach. Only email Mrs Henderson if you are a basketball player, otherwise touch base with your specific coach e.g. Mr Naidoo for volleyball.

EXPECTED BUS RETURN TIMES: It is expected that students will return to school at approx. 3:00pm. Once draws have been released, I will be sure to share any changes to this information.
