We are very excited to be sending 8 teams to Kōru Games this year! This is the biggest team that Heaton has ever sent to this tournament and a fantastic opportunity for our ākonga!

- Lincoln Township: netball and rugby sevens
- Prebbleton: football
- Rolleston (Foster Park): hockey, touch
- Rolleston (Selwyn Sports Centre): Basketball

If you do not wish to participate or cannot attend for any reason, you must email Mrs Henderson before 9:00am on Friday 18th August so all teams can be finalised and replacements can be found.
CODE OF CONDUCT: All participating students must ensure they read and follow our school representative sports code of conduct: Heaton Code of Conduct (CARE)
DRAWS AND VENUE MAPS:
Draws and maps of each sporting venue are now live on the Selwyn Sports Trust Website. These can be accessed by CLICKING HERE and then selecting your sport of choice. Please scroll down to where it says “Further Information” and click on “draws & results”.
COST:
Participation in Kōru Games Tournament is based on our user-pay model (opt-in) and will involve a cost that covers return transportation to the event and tournament expenses. These costs will be added to your school account. If you have any questions or no longer wish for your child to take part, please contact Mrs Henderson.

STUDENT EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Please ensure you have the following equipment to ensure your success on tournament day:
- Packed lunch with plenty of healthy snacks.
- Water bottle.
- Heaton PE kit or assigned uniform.
- Any specific sports equipment you require for your code e.g. rugby boots, hockey sticks, shin pads, mouth guards, racquets etc.
- Warm clothing in the event of wind or cold weather.
- Sunblock and sunhat.
- Spare shoes for outdoor codes (in the event of rain and mud)
- All personal medication you require e.g. EpiPen, Ventolin
- Please note, there will be no gum or fizzy/sports drinks permitted.

As part of our Heaton Team uniform, we are asking all students to purchase the Kōru Games Hoodie. Please click THIS LINK to place your order. All orders will be collected on the first day of the tournament!
MEETING TIMES & LOCATIONS
Day 1 Logistics – Tuesday 19th September
- On Tuesday, all competitors are to please meet in the hall at 7:50 a.m. A roll will be taken, and then we will depart on the bus at 8:10 a.m.
- All competitors will travel to the Selwyn Netball Centre where we will attend the opening ceremony.
- Everyone should be changed into their sporting uniform when they arrive at school – please ensure your child has plenty of warm layers for the day. They do not need their school uniform.
- The opening ceremony concludes at 10 a.m.
- All students involved with hockey, football and basketball will then jump back on the bus and head to their venues in Prebbleton and Rolleston where matches will begin.
- Destinations: Prebbleton Reserve, Rolleston and then onto Foster Park
- All other students will remain in Lincoln and head to their sporting venues.
Day 2 and 3 logistics
Students competing in touch, football, hockey and basketball will depart at the following times:
- Meet at 7:50 am, leave: at 8.00 a.m. to Prebbleton Reserve, Rolleston and then onto Foster Park
- Return: 2.30 p.m. Foster Park and then onto Prebbleton Reserve to Heaton
- Meet in the hall at 7:50am.
Students competing in netball and rugby sevens will depart at the following times:
- Meet at 8:20 a.m., leaving school at 8.30 a.m. to Selwyn Netball Centre, North Belt, Lincoln
- Return: 2.30 p.m. to Heaton
- Meet in the hall at 8:20 am.
Please note that we may be returning to school after 3 p.m. on these three days as some games conclude at 2:45 p.m. I will communicate via the Hero App our ETA each day.
