FESTIVAL INFORMATION:
- Schools supply their own scorers and match balls.
- CJCA will set up grounds and aims to supply umpires for all games.
- Games will start at 9.15am each day with afternoon games scheduled for a 12:45 pm start but this can be brought forward if both teams are ready. If games run their course we hope to finish no later than 4pm each day.
- Bowlers are limited to 3 overs per bowler up to 9 bowlers may be used. Should a game be reduced to less than 15 overs bowlers will be limited to 2 overs.
- Over Length: 6 balls except the last over overs can be a maximum of 8 balls
- To avoid confusion batting retirements have been reduced to 25 balls per batter in line with CJCA Saturday Intermediate rules – batters may bat the over out after receiving 25 balls INCLUDING WIDES OR NO BALLS.
- A Grace Period (6 balls) will exist with players who go onto retire after being dismissed in their Grace Period not being able to return.
- Retired batters (who are not dismissed in their Grace Period) may return in order in which they retired should the rest of the batters be dismissed – Last Boys Standing exists in this Festival.
MEETING TIMES & LOCATIONS:
Students are required to meet Mrs Henderson at the flag pole promptly at 7:45am and should arrive at school wearing their cricket whites, Heaton PE top and Heaton cap.
GAME TIMES AND STUDENT COLLECTION:
It is expected that students will be finished for the day at approx 3:45pm. Students will need to be collected directly from Hagley Park, and they must check in with Mr Brown or Mrs Henderson before departure so we know that you are leaving with a trusted adult.
If your son is unable to be collected from Hagley Park on either or both competition days, please communicate this with Mrs Henderson via email so alternate arrangements can be made. Alternatively, if your son will be carpooling with another family, please make contact so a record can be kept to manage student collection.
PARENT HELP: If your parents plan on attending the competition to watch you compete, and they would be willing to help throughout the day e.g. scoring duties, please ask them to contact Mrs Henderson (hendersonk@heaton.school.nz)
